Australia’s sunctions list (21-06-07)

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has amended the list of Zimbabweans subject to financial sanctions due to their association with the Zimbabwean government.
It removed three individuals and added 27 new individuals to the names, according to a statement.
The list includes ministers and sen

ior officials of the Zimbabwean government as well as senior management of state-owned enterprises. “Any transactions involving the transfer of funds or payments to, by the order of, or on behalf of any person listed in the annex are prohibited without prior approval from the Reserve Bank,” the RBA said. The list of 183 names oddly include Reserve Bank Governor Gideon Gono whose children are said to be studying in Australia. One wonders how he pays their fees and pocket money.
