Head coach Brighton Chivandire hopes to lead his troops to a successful Pool B campaign against Canada, Japan and hosts Georgia. Their first assignment will be against Japan at the Shevardeni Stadium in Tbilisi, on Tuesday.

The rest of the players who will be making their debut performance on the international scene have five of their experienced team mates to look up to.

Captain Marco Mama, Takudzwa Mandiwanza, Takudzwa Jaravaza, Charles Jiji and Tatenda Karuru took part in last years edition of the showdown in Russia where Zimbabwe finished in a disappointing seventh position.

Chivandires assistant Godwin Murambiwa is confident the fives presence will boost the debutants morale in venturing into the unknown.

It is a great mix of players who have been at that level before and others who are hungry to achieve at such a high profile tournament. The guys have great energy, they have been together for a while and they know each others play so well, said Murambiwa.

The Young Sables have always made the country proud on their tours and we have no intention of making this trip an exception. We are going to do our best and hope that we will end in the top four.
