Sithole will make an impact at Sundowns: Mwanjali

Veteran Mamelodi Sundowns defender Method Mwanjali believes CAPS United striker Simba Sithole will make an impact if he joins the South African outfit, despite the presence of forwards like Mabudi Khenyeza and Nyasha Mushekwi.

The CAPS United forward, who has scored an astonishing 10 goals in 10 matches, is set to join Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa. Sundowns has a liking for Zimbabwean players after swooping on the likes of Mushekwi, Mwanjali and Lionel Mutizwa last season.

They also have Esrom Nyandoro on their books. And, in an interview this week, Mwanjali said he believes Sithole is a striker of the highest order who can make his presence felt if he joins the Brazilians.

"He is a top striker there is no doubt about that," said Mwanjali. "I believe he can make an impact if he joins Mamelodi Sundowns. There are great forwards like Mushekwi and Khenyeza but I can see Sithole making his presence felt if he joins the team. He is still young and hungry to succeed and I am sure he has a great future.”

Sithole and his manager met Sundowns officials on Thursday with a view to thrashing out personal terms for the player. But the two parties are reportedly still trying to agree on the issue of the signing fee for the player. Negotiations are set to continue in the coming weeks. And Sithole is now expected back home to rejoin his CAPS United teammates.
