Hardbody FC out

Central Soccer League log leaders, Hardbody FC, had 42 points docked for using a fraudulently-registered player.

The fall of the Watosvorwa boys comes at a time when they have only one game to complete the season. Before the latest development, the side had 65 points at the pole position. They are now on the 23rd position of the log, dashing all hopes of entering into the PSL. The team is now fighting relegation from Division 1 to Division 2.

The disciplinary committee, which was chaired by Gweru lawyer Reginald Chidawanyika, ruled that Hardbody had fielded Tendai Chingara in 14 matches after he had been registered without an international reverse clearance.

“For that offence, which does not only violate ZIFA regulations, but those of FIFA as well, three points will be docked for every match the player featured in, making the total 42 points,” the committee said in its verdict.

The development now offers second-placed side, Tripple B of Beitbridge, an opportunity to make it into the PSL.
