The talented line-up includes upcoming stars Michael Songore (100m) and 2OOm), Marvelous Ndebele (400m), Nyasha Mutsetse (800m) and (1 500m), Ruvarashe Muzinde (400m) and Daniel Muzinde (200m).
In an interview with The Zimbabwean last week, National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe President Tendai Tagara said preparations were going well.
“Our athletes are training with their respective coaches in their provinces because at the moment, they cannot go into camp as some of them are committed with their education and are still preparing for their mid-term examinations,” said Tagarira.
“But that does not deter us from the trip because the athletes have good coaches taking care of them.” He was still hopeful that the nine athletes would bring good results for the country.
