Nyaruviro, who has never competed in any contest in Zimbabwe, won the overall modelling category at the Carnival City in Johannesburg recently. “I am very happy with this achievement which only comes after hard work,” said Nyaruviro.

“I won the South African World Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation show in the muscle model division, to earn the pro-card. This is such a huge honour for me and I hope to bring more pro-cards to Zimbabwe. What I am doing is for my country and I will continue flying our flag high.”

The 28-year old fitness physique model became the second Zimbabwean to win the pro-card as bodybuilder Victor Hungwe had already previously won it. This means that both Zimbabwean internationals with their pro-cards will be able to participate in professional competitions and earn money along the way.

Two months ago, Hungwe wrote his own piece of history when he became the first Zimbabwean to win a pro-card, following his victory at the International Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation Contest in Midrand, South Africa.

Nyaruviro is already hard at training preparing to go to the United States of America for a contest in September. “My focus now is to prepare for the worlds in Las Vegas in nine weeks. Wherever I participate I want to win always and I am training a lot to win in US,” he said.

Nyaruviro is also prepared to groom other interested sporting personalities to achieve their dreams. “I also aim to help other athletes to reach their goals through personal training and even online training for those who cannot have direct access to me,” he added.
