Tembo, recently the club’s development coach, was earlier this week officially promoted to assistant coach for the senior team, where he will be assisting former South African national team coach, Gordon Igesund.
Former central defender Tembo, who also starred for the Pretoria-based former league champions, has been replaced by Macbeth Sibaya as the new head coach of the Club’s Multichoice Diski Challenge side.
“Sibaya’s appointment follows Kaitano Tembo’s promotion to work with the first team as an assistant to Gordon Igesund,” confirmed SuperSport spokesman, Koketso Gaofetoge. “The first team coaching staff will work with the MDC side to ensure a smooth transition to the senior team.” SuperSport United Chief Executive Officer Stan Matthews hoped Sibaya would build on the foundation laid by the Zimbabwean. “I am confident he (Sibaya) will build on the tremendous work done by Kaitano and his team last season, where we finished 4th in the Multichoice Diski Challenge and promoted young Denwin Farmer into the senior team.”
