Club chairman Lifa Ncube confirmed they will now represent Zimbabwe after being given the go ahead by their sponsors adding that they have since been registered with Caf.
Initially, Ncube had announced last Friday that the club would not be participating in Africa due to shortage of funds.
However, the club supremo said everything has now been sorted out and Chicken Inn will play in Africa. “We have been given the go ahead by our sponsors and we will play with the big boys of Africa next year,†said Ncube.
Caf had given all national football associations up to midnight yesterday to register clubs who will represent their countries in both the Caf Champions League and the Caf Confederation Cup.
Chibuku Super Cup winners, Harare City had already been registered in the Confederation Cup having confirmed their participation way back.
This year, Zimbabwe was not represented in the Caf Champions League after Dynamos withdrew on the same reasons of non availability of funds. FC Platinum played in the Confederation Cup and were eliminated in the first round.Post published in: Football
