Help us eject Zanu PF, pleads Dzamara family

PATSON Dzamara, brother to the missing Itai Dzamara, says youths throughout the country should join “us” in campaigning for the removal of the Zanu PF government whose “expired” leadership is defecating on “our” future.

3000Patson was speaking to Journalists on the sidelines of a prayer meeting they held in Harare’s Africa Unity Square Tuesday to mark the 11th month of his brother Itai’s disappearance.

He said Zimbabweans should come in their numbers and join “us” in a massive demonstration “we are” staging on 9 March.

The demonstration, according to Patson, will serve a dual purpose; that is to denounce abductions generally and also celebrate Itai’s life.

“These people who are busy defecating on our future have already expended their lives and it is now our future that they are messing up with.

“So it is our responsibility as young people and we encourage you to join us especially on the 9th of March,” he told reporters at the event which was attended by scores of what appeared to be members of the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) who were also taking notes and pictures.

Itai Dzamara was abducted by suspected state agents on 9 March last year in his Glen View home area.

Prior to his disappearance, the journalist-cum-rights-activist had been protesting against President Robert Mugabe’s “misrule”, demanding the resignation of the veteran leader.

Since his disappearance, churches have been holding monthly prayers for his safe return.

Patson said they would also be launching a documentary which chronicles Itai’s life.

“We want numbers as we march throughout the city and congregate for the launch of the documentary which celebrates the life of Itai who, above all, we consider a hero,” he said.

“We do not mind whatever happened and whether we are going to see him or not.

“He is an idea or he represents an idea whose time has come; so, as a people, we are going to augment that through our celebration of his life.”

Itai Dzamara’s wife Sheffra, and his two children attended Tuesday’s church service.
