Another classical music treat for Harare this weekend

Internationally-experienced pianist Genaro Pereira will perform in Harare on Sunday, in a recital that will have broad general appeal. Genaro was born in Zimbabwe in 1981 and moved with his parents to South Africa while young (his grandfather was Zimbabwe’s Mr Entertainment, the late Jimmy Pereira, founder of the Rainbow Theatres organisation).

Arundel-ElementaryHe is now based in Paris, from where he undertakes a series of performance tours each year. He has now regained his Zimbabwean citizenship and to celebrate this momentous event, he will undertake a recital for Celebrity Subscription Concerts, taking place at the Arundel School Chapel at 2.30pm this Sunday, August 28. This is the fourth Celebs subscription concert of 2016, so paid-up members need make no payment, while all others are $10 (school and college students are free).

Booking for this is open at The Spotlight (Reps Theatre foyer, open Mon-Fri 9am to 4pm, Sat 9am to 12 noon); online bookings and payments can be made through www.thespotlight.co.zw. We encourage advance booking as this makes entry at the door quicker and it also means people can use cards or online payments for their ticket purchases. The programme will include works by Erik Satie, Bach, Luciano Berio, Debussy, Godowsky, Arnold Schoenberg and Beethoven.
