the prevailing issue of fees top ups. Students are being forced with immediate effect to pay a hefty ZW$750,000-00 otherwise face eviction from the halls of residence and denial to examinations. A similar predicament has been reported to have hit Masvingo Polytechnic College, were students are being threatened with harsh and immediate eviction from college facilities. Addressing at the Bulawayo Polytechnic College were Vava Blessing, former President, Clever Bere, National University of Science and Technology Students Union President, his Vice Mehluli Dube, Themba Mapenduka and Pritchard Bhebhe, Students Union President for Hillside Teachers College. Other issues topical on the agenda were the recent move by the government of Robert Mugabe to bond students, the on going lecturers strikes, torture and victimisation of students. Student raised a burning concern over the government failure to provide consistent power supply to the people of Zimbabwe. This has heavily affected the learning process, particularily students at Engineering and the Hotel school who are failing to have practicals. The former president, Blessed Vava declared a class boycott that shall feed into the national protest.
No reports have been received so far of any arrests.
