Mugabe Shows Faith in Army, Police Chiefs

HARARE, (Zimbabwe) - ZIMBABWE President, Robert Mugabe has announced the re-appointment of police commissioner, defence forces commander and army commander respectively, a senior government official announced on Thursday (today).


The announcement was made by the Chairman of Public Service Commission, Dr. Mariyawanda Nzuwah on Thursday on behalf of Mugabe, who is in Ethiopia for the African Union (AU) Summit. 
Dr. Mariyawanda Nzuwah said police commissioner Augustine Chihuri and his four detputy commissioners Godwin Matanga, Levy Sibanda, Innocent Matibiri and Barbra Mandizha have been re-appointed until August 31, 2011.
On the list of those re-appointed are  General Constantine Guveya Chiwenga as commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) with immediate effect until December 31st 2011, Lt-General Philip Valerio Sibanda  until December 31st 201 1
