Dynamos edged CAPS United 3-2 in the BancABCSup8r Cup final to assert their dominance in cup competitions this season.

Dynamos won the Independence Trophy at the start of the season in April after beating rivals Highlanders before lifting the ZAOGA Golden Jubilee Cup and with the BancABCSup8r Cup also now in the bag, team manager Nyika Chifamba speaking to The Zimbabwean on Sunday last week declared DeMbare were the new Cup Kings.

“We have taken over as the new Cup Kings. We now have three trophies and that is a remarkable achievement. It shows we are the new Cup Kings,” said Chifamba.

Dynamos collected the US$40 000 winners cheque while CAPS United got US$15000 for coming second best.

The Glamour Boys shot stopper, Washington Arubi, was voted goalkeeper of the tournament while Shooting Stars striker Simbarashe Sithole claimed the tournament’s top goal scorer award.

CAPS United captain Nyasha Mukumbi was voted player of the tournament while Dynamos midfielder Archieford Gutu formerly with South African outfit Cape Town Ajax won the man of the match award.
