Mushore left Zimbabwe under mysterious circumstances using the Kariba route. His black designer Mercedes Benz SLK was found parked in a bush at Lake Kariba without Mushore, the driver. He later resurfaced in London, where NMB Bank is also listed.
Gono had accused both NMB’s Mushore and Makoni and Trust’s Nyemba of illegally exporting foreign currency using their investment vehicles based abroad. The three bankers all denied the charges levelled against them. Mushore was, however, quickly arrested and had to appear in the High Court when he returned to Zimbabwe from London.
Mushore has since led a rather quiet life only appearing at NMB Holdings Annual General Meetings (AGMs). In an exclusive interview with The Zimbabwean in Harare, Mushore said : “I’m fine and all is well at NMB right now,” he said. “I am back in office too.
