Tsholotsho War Veteran Manhandle NYDT Staff

Two NYDT staffers were on Friday (18/02/2011) man handled by self proclaimed war veterans believed to be fanatics of ZANU PF after they staged a mobile cinema screening on peace building and conflict transformation at Nembe primary school in Tsholotsho.

The two officers said they were accused of being enemies of the state, regime change agents, and threatened with severe beatings for going into a ZANU PF constituency to denounce political violence.

NYDT notes with grave concern the continued incidents of violent assault on members of civic society but would like to reiterate that no amount of violence can stop young ideas from coming to life or reverse young peoples thirst for change.
