“Last year we had makeshift staging, 2 performing acts and 14 contestants, this year we have professional staging & lighting, 4 performing acts and 25 contestants,” say the organisers. “In the past few months we've seen our on-line presences sky-rocket – 2400 website hits in April, 5500 in May and already to date 4715 in June. Visitors are coming from as many as 48 countries and 40% of those are regular visitors. We already have 10 contestants who want to apply for the 2012 pageant!”
Pageant Director Michelle Adams said the event adhered to strict rules and gave participants some wonderful development opportunities such as public speaking and working under pressure towards a professional result.
