“I noticed the need to develop talent because there are no longer as many sponsors for junior players as there was in the past, hence our undertaking to help youngsters this way,” said the former Highlanders and Railstars speedy winger.
“Lack of academies has led to a tremendous fall of footballing standards and I want to help resuscitate the sport.” Nyambiya recently quit fulltime employment at the National Railways of Zimbabwe to concentrate on his new-found love. “I was being paid peanuts and decided to concentrate on developing soccer, which I still love so much,” added the man who is also head coach at Carmel secondary school.
Nyambiya was a right winger for the Railstars team that won admirers in Bulawayo for their beautiful brand of football. He quit the game in 2010, having also turned out for Ziscosteel and Shabanie Mine.
He also had a brief stint in Albania with F.C Bylis. In 2009-10, he emerged the top scorer for Botswana’s Boteti Young fighters, with 10 goals.
