President Guebuza to visit Scotland

Mozambican President Armando Guebuza on Tuesday will begin a visit the Scottish city of Aberdeen.

The President will make the keynote address to an oil and gas conference held on 25 and 26 July. It is organised by the Mozambique High Commission and Aberdeen City Council under the theme “Infrastructure Development in the Emerging Oil and Gas Industry in Mozambique”.

Accompanying the President will be Minister of Mineral Resources, Esperanca Bias; Minister for Industry and Trade, Armando Inroga; Deputy Minister of Planning and Development, Amelia Nakhare; Chairperson of Mozambique’s National Petroleum Institute (INP), Arsenio Mabote; and Chairperson of the publicly owned Mozambican Hydrocarbon Company (ENH), Nelson Ocuane.

President Guebuza will also hold meetings with representatives of the British and Scottish governments, business figures and dignitaries.

Aberdeen is widely recognised as the oil capital of Europe.
