Buffalo Souljah looks to keep up Channel O winning streak

South Africa-based Zimbabwean dancehall musician and producer Buffalo Souljah has once again proved to be a favourite at the Channel O Music Video Awards after landing a Most Gifted Ragga/Dancehall Video nomination list for his latest dancehall tune, “Basawine.”

The self-proclaimed king of African dancehall already boasts five Channel O awards and one Nigerian Soundcity award under his belt.

2008 was Buffalo Souljah’s big break, winning awards for Best Ragga/Dancehall Video and Best Newcomer.

This year he has been joined on the nomination ladder by fellow countryman and prominent DJ, Oscar “Oskido” Mdlongwa. His song, “Tsa Mandebele”, is nominated in the Most Gifted African Southern Video category.

The awards show will take place on November 30 at Walter Sisulu Square in Soweto, South Africa. The dreadlocked star has been mobilising his fans on social media platforms to vote for him, with polls closing on November 21 at midnight.
