“I am working hard to join the Soweto-based side and I am happy with my performances so far at training,” said Mutizwa.
“I need to continue working hard as the coach and his entire technical team have been supportive. With this kind of support I can’t disappoint them. I am not new to the PSL and I know what’s needed for me to get a place in the Dube Birds.”
Mutizwa arrived in South Africa to join Mamelodi Sundowns about two seasons ago, but did not play due to a long injury-induced lay-off.
He was loaned to arch-rivals Pretoria University, where he played the best game of his life, prompting a recall by the Brazilians who however, terminated his contract at the beginning of this season.
However, lack of match action cost Mutizwa his place in the Warriors set up before he was suspended along with close to 100 others for his involvement in the Asiagate scandal.
He is the son of the great Stanford Stix Mtizwa, who played for the great CAPS United side of the 80s and early 90s and included the late greats Shacky Tauro, Joal Shambo, Stanley Ndunduma and Friday Phiri.
