The Civil Society emphasized that it remains committed to:
-Advocating for participatory and people-driven democratic processes in the governance of the country.
-Lobbying for the security of citizens, their enjoyment of freedoms of movement, assembly and association.
-Working for the establishment of a political and social environment that is conducive to holding free and fair elections.
-Enhancing confidence and capacity among citizens, to ensure they participate in governance issues in an empowered and informed manner.
-Monitoring any political processes and developments for the purposes of enforcing checks and balances.
The representatives who met the mediation team were drawn from different civic organisations which included, inter alia, the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU), Women’s Coalition, National Association of Non-Governmental Organisations (NANGO), National Constitutional Assembly (NCA), Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, Law Society of Zimbabwe, Christian Alliance, Women of Zimbabwe Arise (Woza), Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN) and Crisis Coalition.
