The Brazilian mentor is expected to guide the under-achieving Zimbabwe Warriors into the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) World Cup soccer showcase to be hosted by its southern neighbours, South Africa in 2010.Â
Claudinei (60) is regarded as one of the most experienced mentors in the world following coaching in seven countries, a move that helped him earn lots of respect in the football arena.
Zimbabwe followed South Africa’s footsteps when they signed Brazilian head coach Alberto Amando Parreira as Bafana Bafana mentor for the 2010, though the difference is that Parreira will be on the bench when South Africa enters Ghana for the crucial Africa Cup of Nations whilst Zimbabwe will be watching from the sidelines.Â
Also present at this great function on Tuesday night was Zimbabwe’s acting president, Joseph Msika, the corporate world, Zimbabwe Soccer Supporters Association, professionals, academics and politicians to give the morale boost to the new coach- CAJ News.
