Chitoro, who recently joined independent presidential candidate Simba Makoni, also lambasted Mugabe, civilian head of the military junta, for causing political violence and making people suffer.During an exclusive interview with The Zimbabwean on Sunday last week at his homestead in Madhoro village, Mberengwa, a reformed Chitoro, who led Zanu (PF) terror thugs to kill and brutalize several MDC supporters in previous elections, said Mugabe is going to lose the presidential run-off elections as he was no longer popular with the people of Zimbabwe because of his dictatorial tendencies.
Mugabe is a dictator. I don’t see him winning the presidential run-off unless a miracle happens. People are tired of this old man, he should just retire and go to Zvimba to venture into farming, Chitoro told the ZoS.
He used us in the 2000, 2002 and 2005 elections to beat and torture MDC members just because people were continuing to rejected him. But this time with my comrades we decided not to be used by this old man because we gained nothing by killing and torturing people he added.
Chitoro said he is still a member Zanu (PF) as nobody owns the party. He also blasted former Legal and Parliamentary Affairs minister Patrick Chinamasa saying he should just shut up as he is mafikozolo in Zanu (PF) and never fought in the liberation struggle.Chitoro also said he had nothing against the MDC leader and President-in-waiting, Morgan Tsvangirai, as he was the people’s favourite, but his wish was to see Makoni and Tsvangirai join hands in fighting the common enemy – Mugabe and his cronies.
