Africa Day 2008

IT'S OUR COUNTRY TOO !!!

Africa UNITE Against Dictatorship in Zimbabwe

Civil Society Africa Day Commemoration, 26 May 2008

Great Indaba, Crowne Plaza, Harare

Civil Society in Zimbabwe is joining the rest of Africa in commemorating Africa Day, 2008. It is however sad to note that the day is being commemorated at a time when the majority of Zimbabweans are going through trying times. The socio-economic conditions have degenerated and there continues to be a gross violation of human rights through politically motivated violence. Civil society is thus calling upon Zimbabweans to unite and not give up against dictatorship. Commemorations in solidarity with the Zimbabwean situation are also being held in South Africa, West Africa and East Africa.
