 In Marondera four incidents were reported. A Zanu (PF) top official, Masimba of Cherutombo Township, recently undressed at a shopping centre and called names of MDC supporters who were kidnapped and killed by suspected government sponsored thugs. Masimba who appeared possessed by evil spirits shouted Why did you kill me. Retrieve my body from the dam you dumped me. I am not a crocodile which live in water.
Most victims of political violence assassinated in Marondera were dumped in a local Wenimbe dam. Eighteen bodies have since been retrieved.
