We are not safe yet, Chitembwe

A solid 2-0 lead away from home over Uganda's Victors F.C powered Caps United an advantage over their opponents in the 2009 Caf Confederations' preliminary round, but not in the comfort zone, head coach Lloyd Chitembwe believes.

There is nothing called being safe in football, no one is guaranteed as yet. Of course we will have an advantage over our opponents when we play here but we need to work on it, he said.

When Monomotapa clashed with Miembeni F.C in the last Sunday, the first half of the game portrayed the visitors as a week team that will probably be booted out in the first round of the African Safari, a team that deserves to be punished in their own backyard, in the return leg, despite showing a bit of resistance in the second half.

Was it a matter of Caps United taking advantage of their hosts' poor show or the Cup Kings were presented a tough challenge they need to be applauded for sustaining?

We need to give credit when it is due, the boys played well, there is so much potential in the team, we just need to work extra hard, that's the reason why we train everyday to try and perfect what we have, Chitembwe applauded his charges. – BY GRACE CHIRUMANZU
