Former Highlanders player and now Bantu Rovers head coach, Gift Lunga (Sr), admitted respect for Dynamos but was confident his charges will match the Elvis Chuchu Chiweshe-coached DeMbare, adding he was hoping to grab a surprise victory against to collect the all three points.
The hosts were placed on number 14 on the 16-team log table, before yesterdays matches, having collected 12 points in the same number of matches. They definitely need all three points at stake this afternoon more than their visitors who have recorded an impressive five consecutive victories and a draw since Chuchu took over as coach six weeks ago.
Dynamos led the pack with 23 points in 12 matches, before week 13 fixtures roared into life yesterday. The Glamour Boys have suffered three losses, drawn twice and have won seven matches.
Lunga understands the pressure of winning matches his team is in and he told The Zimbabwean on Sunday, they are ready for Dynamos, but admitted it may not be the most opportune time to tackle a DeMbare side on good form and bubbling with confidence after such a fine winning streak.
We are taking each game as it comes and we respect every side in the league not because of its name. We are going to treat this match just as we have valued each game we have played, he said.
Dynamos is a good side, which is on a good run at the moment and we respect them. We cannot declare that we will be the team to put an end to their winning but we will be playing for the three points because it is high time we started collecting all points.
