JOHANNESBURG South African Premiership club Platinum Stars will not renew the contract of Zimbabwe Warriors right winger, Joel Luphahla, which expires at the end of this month, a club official told The Zimbabwean.This came as part of the clubs restructuring exercise ahead of the forthcoming season, which kicks off in August.
We feel that as a way of restoring the club to its former top form, we have to part ways with some of the players we used last season, while bringing in new blood to the team, said the Tycoons manager, Ian Riddick.
The speedy Zimbabwean winger, who joined Stars from Tshwane-based Supersport United about two seasons ago, leaves alongside Steve Lekoelea, Jabu Mahlangu and Phumudzo Manenzhe.
Luphahla, who admits that the past season was one of the worst of career, saw very little action at the Germiston-based club, where he was dogged by injuries.
