Utseya told the Zimbabwean on Sunday that the team had prepared well in recent days and expressed confidence that they would deliver. We are ready for the challenge. The guys responded well to the Victoria Falls trip just to make them feel relaxed. The three-day outing assisted players in bonding and getting to know each other. Players shared rooms with different roommates. To us it was a very positive camp towards team building and we have come off it stronger and raring to go, Utseya said.

He said the Faithwear Twenty20 tournament and the Logan Cup had provided good practice for the players. Believing in our capabilities will be key if we are to beat Bangladesh. This is a whole new series, what has happened previously is all in the past, he said.

Zimbabwe cricket has been on a break from the international scene but have used local tournaments to keep in shape.

We do not want to put to waste all that we have done in the build up to this tour. I believe guys can do well if they stay focused in this series. Work of the past weeks should bear fruit for the team, said Utseya.

Utseya, Hamilton Masakadza, Elton Chigumbura, Bulawayo boys Tawanda Mupariwa and Sean Williams, Charles Coventry and Raymond Price are some of the players expected to have a say in Zimbabwes performance against Bangladesh.

ZC senior communications manager Shingai Rhuhwaya was optimistic about the teams prospects during the series. She said ZC had done everything in its capacity to have a good series and expressed hope that all the good work would be translated into a win by the home side.

The Zimbabwe team is already here and they have been working out at Queens Sports Club. The umpires should be arriving on Friday. Guys down here have put a lot of time and effort in ensuring that Queens Sports Club will be in tip-top condition when the games start, said Rhuhwaya.

The Bangladesh team arrived in the country last Thursday afternoon.
