Full squad for Matland Tuskers cricket franchise

HARARE - The newly formed Matabeleland Tuskers cricket franchise team, formerly the Westerns, is on the verge of coming up with a full squad to participate in domestic cricket with the other four franchises. Tuskers' CEO, Stanley Staddon revealed that the franchise had already concluded deals with 10 players who will be playing on a contract basis.

Although he could not reveal the duration of the contracts, Staddon also said that the franchise was still in negotiations with a number of ex-Zimbabwean national team players currently plying their trade in the UK.

After some further inquiry, this publication is reliably informed that Tuskers will have in their books for the season, players such as Tawanda Mpariwa, Mark Vermulen, Sean Williams and others.

A total of fourteen players are also reported to have been signed by Tuskers on a pay-as-you-play basis. Already, the franchise named former national team coach, Robin Brown, as the franchise coach while pace bowler, Tawanda Mpariwa, was named the captain of the side.
