Zanu plans war-chest to sponsor terror – Makumbe

Yet they havent a clue what the crafty old dictator is really up to and how he plans to stay in power for at least another 10 years – or drop dead in the process.

This was the gist of a powerful message delivered to a cross-section of Christian leaders of the 450,000 or so diasporians living in the UK by one of Zimbabwes best known and most widely respected political analysts, Dr John Makumbe.

Sanctions have to stay! he told over 100 delegates attending a meeting organized by Leaders of the Council of Zimbabwe Christian Leaders UK in London last week. They have to stay! They must never be removed!

Mugabe and his cronies constant whingeing about MDC not doing enough to get the sanctions lifted immediately was not to help millions of starving Zimbabweans, said Makumbe.

They want to have access to their money so that they can contribute to a war-chest which will enable them to tell the militia – Civil servants are getting US$ every month. We will give you US$100 a week depending on how many people you rape, how many houses you burn, how many people you murder. And then Zanu (PF) will win the next election June 2008 style, Makumbe told his stunned audience.

Against a background of economic turmoil and what the journalist and academic Professor Kenneth Mafukwa has called vodoo economics, there is no longer any money inside Zimbabwe for Zanu (PF) to get its greedy and blood-stained hands on.

Said Makumbe: The Reserve Bank is bankrupt. They cant get money from Gono. He doesnt have it. They cannot finance a war chest. They will not win an election March 29, 2008 demonstrated that. And so they (the targeted elitists) want to come to Europe. A lot of these guys have money right here in London. They have money in France, in North America, Canada and I suspect even in Mexico.

There are 52 people in the Politburo of Zanu (PF). If only 30 contribute US$50, 00 each to a war chest they can burn Zimbabwe five times over.

Zimbabweans are the last people on earth who need to be told what Mugabe and his ruling party thugs are capable of doing to people who oppose their will.

An estimated 20,000 men, women and children were slaughtered during Gukuruhundi in the 1980s.

Between 700,000 and 800,000 people were thrown out of their houses during Mugabes destruction of urban dwellings during the so-called Murambatsvina in 2005.

Thousands of girls are raped every year by Mugabes teenage cronies.

Hundreds of farmers who want to stay on the land and keep on producing food are beaten to pulp -while SADC, the UN, the World Council of Churches, etc hardly say anything.

Thousands of young girls living in UK, South Africa and Commonwealth countries say theyd return and build their country tomorrow if law and order was restored.

But Id be raped by thugs if I went home, one young qualified woman told The Zimbabwean at the London meeting. She asked not to be named.

Another student said: Our surveys (from a university in southern England) show that two thirds of all Zimbabweans here would return if Mugabe was out of power, if law and order was imposed and if Mugabes thugs were handcuffed and brought to justice.

Zimbabweans at home and overseas are disgusted with the cowardly African leaders there are few exceptions who have sucked up to Mugabe and his bully boys in Harare.

Yet the architects of slaughter and disaster continue to yell for the measures against them to be lifted, portending they are damaging the people.

On Saturday diasaporians who have kept Vigil outside the Zimbabwe High Commission in The Strand for the last seven years will lampoon the two greedy Mugabes Robert the Brute and Greedy Grace – by portraying them as happy shoppers at Harrods once the targeting measures against them have been removed.
