On October 9, they picketed in Durban to encourage the SADC troika to convene the summit on Zimbabwe as directed by the SADC heads of state in Kinshasa. A petition was handed to the Mozambique Consulate, the Premier of Kwazulu Natal and the Angolan Embassy in Pretoria.
In the petition they called upon SADC Troika to stop treating Mugabe with kid gloves while Zimbabwe continued to bleed profusely and to convene the Troika meeting immediately to show leadership and exercise their powers to resolve the following outstanding issues, among them:
* Pressure on Mugabe to honour the letter and spirit of the GPA by rescinding the appointments of Gideon Gono [RBZ Governor] and Johannes Tomana [Attorney General].
* The immediate swearing in of Provincial Governors and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture designate, Roy Bennett.
* The halting of farm invasions.
* The observation of property rights.
* The disbanding of the Joint Operations Command (JOC)
* The quick drafting of a new, people-driven constitution.
* Immediate reform of the media.
