SHURUGWI - The cash-strapped Shurugwi town council has been failing to pay employees on time amid fears that council workers may go on industrial action.Town council chairman, Bulle Madzitire, confirmed that they had been failing to pay the employees on time let alone review the salaries.
Madzitire said their failure to pay the employees in time was not deliberate but was a result of the stressful financial position of the town council.
We are however happy that our employees understand the nature of the problem
and are co-operating with council with the hope that things will improve.
