Addressing party supporters at Sakubva Beithall recently he said:
Without Tsvangirais understanding and wisdom the country could have degenerated into chaos.
Mutambara said Mugabe should know that there is no government outside the Global Political Agreement, adding that if the two MDC formations pulled out of the government, Mugabe would only become a rebel leader.
Tsvangirai is the one who is giving legitimacy to Mugabe, he said.
Mutambara said Tsvangirai was justified in his disengagement from the government, saying that Mugabe was trying to run away from his signature.
Commenting on the issue of Mugabes refusal to swear in MDC national Treasurer and deputy minister of agriculture, Roy Bennet, Mutambara said there was no justification for it.
Mugabe does not have veto power to refuse to swear in any person nominated by Prime Minister Tsvangirai, he said.
Mutambara said his party fully supported Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.
