Chinotimba told The Zimbabwean newspaper at the Harare International Conference Centre, where he was attending a training workshop for the members of the outreach teams, that the people of Zimbabwe should write their own constitution.
The constitution is not for the party, war veterans, MDC, Zanu (PF), but for the people of Zimbabwe. It should be written by the people themselves, said Chinotimba. The constitution was the reason why we went to invade farms. It was a flawed constitution. It was not written by Zanu (PF), but by Rhodesians so, as Zimbabweans, we should be happy to write our own constitution.
Chinotimba is one of 630 members of the outreach teams, which are to be deployed to the countrys ten provinces to collate the views of the people. Chinotimba added that he hoped there would not be a repeat of the violent scenes that characterised the 2008 presidential election run-off.
We dont want violence, said Chinotimba. No-one should be talking nonsense. The violence that took place in the past should be a thing of the past.
