Tsaona, the 17-year-old artist’s first single, is a marked departure from the risqu lyrics and substandard music that has been urban grooves. Tsaona is pure rastafarian-influenced material. And its an instant winner among the youth in Zimbabwe. It has also won accolades from adults, leaving the youthful D-Flexx, who only completed O-Level last year, being hailed as Zimbabwean reggae dancehall’s next big star. The youthful artist has reportedly been introduced to Metro Studios to record a full album and to re-master his Tsaona hit song.
D-Flexx seems poised for breakthrough in America. He said he has completed six songs that feature a mix of technology and social themes. Reggae fans, young and old, will enjoy his flare. In addition to the recording deal he is about to clinch, D-Flexx will probably unveil tracks from his upcoming album, so this will no doubt raise his profile. Bouncing, spinning and singing, D-Flexx is infusing dancehall music with positive lyric. And the combination is a winner.
