HARARE - The nominees for the 2010 edition of the National Arts Merit Awards will be released this week and attendance at the awards ceremony will be strictly by invitation, the National Arts Council Deputy Director, Nicholas Moyo, announced. The ninth edition of NAMA will be held February 20, 2010 at the 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, under the theme Together As One. Those wishing to attend the awards ceremony need to contact the National Arts Council (NACZ) for invitations.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Culture Spear of the Kulenyane fame from Botswana will be the main attraction at the awards ceremony. The music and dance group is brought to NAMA courtesy of the Embassy of the Republic of Botswana.
The guest group from Botswana will share the stage with local performers to spice up the ceremony.
