MREWA - The electorate must be ready for harmonized general elections any time, as the GPA and the constitution-making processes are facing serious challenges, MDC Mashonaland East Provincial Chairman, Patrick Chabvamupero, has said.Chabvamupero was addressing party supporters at a victory celebration rally held at Nhakiwa Business Centre last Saturday. The MDC is using victory rallies to update supporters about progress made by the inclusive government, since its inauguration in February last year.
GPA and the constitution making processes are not progressing according to plan. So as a party, we must put up party structures and warm up for eventual elections. The party must romp to a resounding victory as we did in March 2008, said Chabvamupero.
The MDC has managed to gain massive support and establish structures in rural areas which were previously Zanu (PF) strongholds. While Tsvangirais party continues to gain popularity across the country, Zanu (PF) struggles to lure deserting sympathizers back to the party. This has instilled fear in Mugabes party which is frustrating the constitution process to avoid elections.
