According to MDC-T Mashonaland East Provincial Spokesperson, Silas Gweshe, the woman, who is a widow, had refused to bow to pressure from Zanu (PF) thugs for her to join the former ruling party. “Tavedzerwa has gone to the police to report the case and the police have since opened a docket, they promised us that they will look into the matter when we made the report. We have also given them the names of the people we suspect to be involved in the case,” said Gweshe. Tavedzerwa said she was sure that Zanu (PF) District Political Commissioner Johannes Chitsa was behind the arson.
