Bennetts maize charges dropped

bennett_roy7HARARE The trumped up charges of hoarding grain that were levelled against Roy Bennett (Pictured) have been withdrawn, according to state prosecutors.

Bennett, the rightful Deputy Minister of Agriculture in Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirais MDC, is also facing charges of terrorism, banditry and sabotage, and has to wait until May 10 to find out if the High Court will drop the charges.

According to the MDC, the grain charges are evidence of the political persecution that Bennett has faced at the hands of President Robert Mugabes Zanu (PF) party.
