England fans invade Rustenburg

RUSTENBURG Supporters of the England national football team, notorious for their rowdy behaviour during matches, have already started invading Rustenburg the city where their star studded team will be based for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The supporters of the 1966 champions are already trooping into the mining city, transforming the usually docile, reserved community into a lively and unpredictable one.

Two England supporters, who spoke to The Zimbabwean could not hide their excitement and said they did not know what to expect from Africa during their first visit.

It is a wonderful place, said Gary Norton. We came here early, just before the start of the World Cup so that we can explore some areas. We are very happy, we have gone to the local stadium and we wonder why people where saying this country cannot host the World Cup.

Sheila Thornton another supporter predicts that her first trip to the African continent will be a memorable one.

We have been going to a few pubs and trying some of the local beers. Football is just about having fun. We hope that
