HARARE - Log leaders Dynamos will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run in the league when they date an unpredictable Eagles side on Wednesday as the domestic soccer league resumes with midweek fixtures.
Elvis Chiweshe’s side go into the match with a hundred percent start to the season after notching seven wins in seven matches they have played in the campaign so far and hauling a maximum 21 points. Early pacesetters and second placed Motor Action are on 19 points.
Inform Dynamos striker Evans Gwekwerere will be hoping to increase his goal tally of five in seven matches against an Eagles side that has capacity to cause problems for DeMbare. Gwekwere told The Zimbabwean on Sunday that his aim was to win the Golden Boot Award come the end of the season.
“We will continue from where we left. We were playing very well before the league games were cancelled but we have been training to keep in shape. We are ready to roll. My aim is to win the top goal scorer award and help the team win the league title,” said Gwekwerere.
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) was forced to cancel all league matches to avoid a counter attraction to the World Cup which ends in South Africa today.
Fans were shunning the games opting to watch the World Cup tournament the first to be held in Africa. Even traditional crowd pullers Dynamos, Highlanders and Caps United were left counting the loss as fans opted to stay at home watching World Cup action on televisions.
