Nengomasha, who left for Qatar last month, returned to Chiefs last week after the apparent collapse of his intended move to the high-paying Qatari league, but the reasons were kept under wraps by Chiefs Manager, Bobby Motaung.
However, The Zimbabwean this week learnt that the player, sold for R15 million by the Amakhosi to Doha, failed to sign for the club after their Serbian coach, Ilija Petkovi, showed a negative attitude towards the Zimbabwe Warriors defensive midfielder.
According a source within Chiefs management, Petkovi was not happy that the clubs management had signed Nengomasha without consulting him and when the Zimbabwean joined the club for its pre-season training in France last month, he was put on trial.
Instead of assessing how good he is, the coach was only looking at how bad he was because he already had a negative attitude towards the player, said the source.
As a result, the coach said that he was not impressed with Nengomasha, hence the club did not offer him any contract.
Chiefs, who signed another defensive midfielder, Steven Ncanana to succeed Nengomasha, said they are still happy to have the illustrious midfielder back in their ranks, as he was a quality player worth his weight in gold.
