The continued construction of the houses has raised concerns among the residents, recently Chitungwiza Residents and Ratepayers Association (CHRRA) met up with the Deputy Minister of Local Government, Sesel Zvidzai, demanding that the ministry halt the flagrant breaches of its by-laws.
“I have met up with the residents representatives. They are complaining over the issue of in-fills among other things and I am going to investigate the matter and establish the true facts, after that we will decide what to do with the council, he said.
However, residents of the town do not expect much from the Local Government which has in the past absolved the council of any corruption despite glaring evidence.
Chitungwiza Town Clerk, Godfrey Tanyanyiwa, rides on a wave of support from the Minister of Local Government Ignitious Chombo.
