The rally that was held over two days in the host countrys port city of Cape Town, last weekend was the penultimate round of the eight-legged 2010 Sasol South African National Rally Championship. Rautenbach is representing Zimbabwe in the main Class S2000. The countrys participant succumbed to the 2007 National Rally Champions, Enzo Kuun and Guy Hodgson, who were the eventual winners of the competition.
The duo of BP VW Class S2000 Polo team now lead the series with eight points when the final rally roars into life in Gauteng, next month. Teammates Jan Habig and co-driver Ralph Pitchford stand second on the race to the championship title ahead of third placed Hergen Fekken and Pierre Arries who are the 2008/09 South African national champions.
Meanwhile, Robson Maganezi who took part in the N3 Class of the same competition continues to lead the race for the championship title despite coming second in Cape Town. He came second after South African driver, Megan Verlaque. Maganezi leads the N3 Class standings with 35 points, two ahead of his nearest rival Verlaque.
