DeMbare have played the role of the bridesmaids in the Premiership soccer championship race since 2008.
Their slender victory over Black Mambas at Morris Depot was not good enough for them to overtake Motor Action in the race for the Premiership title.
Motor Action were eventually crowned Zimbabwean Champions because of a superior goal difference of four after the two teams had finished tie on 66 points.
It was another heartbreak for Dynamos who have perfected the art of chasing the title right to the final day only to be beaten to the finishing line.
Two years ago, Dynamos lost the championship to Monomotapa, who won it for the first time when they were under the guidance of Norman Mapeza.
Last season it was the same story with Moses Chunga then at Gunners snatched the title from under their noses.
Dynamos though will be playing in the African Champions league draw after finishing as runners up to the Mighty Bulls.
Dynamos’ veteran midfielder Desmond Maringwa said it was disappointing to get another second place finish. “It is very disappointing to be beaten to the title again. We had worked hard but these things happen in football. We now look forward to do better in the African Champions League. This disappointment has given us the energy to want to do better again,” said Maringwa.
“We wanted to win the championship but we failed.
“It’s disappointing but we tried our best,” said Dynamos coach Elvis Chiweshe.
