MDC youth activist has been hospitalised in Bindura, after he was abducted and assaulted by a group of men wearing police uniform.Try Karedza, the MDC Youth Assembly chairperson for Mount Darwin North, was abducted on Monday morning by seven armed men in police uniform. He was taken to Nyanguwu near Zimbabwes border with Mozambique where he was blindfolded and severely assaulted.
The unidentified men who were driving a white truck, later on Monday left Karedza unconscious. Karedza finally regained consciousness and sought help from passersby, who took him to Bindura for medical attention.
At the same time, in Chiredzi South, Cephas Magezani of Ward 7 Chikombedzi, managed to escape abduction after four unidentified men attempted to kidnap him at gunpoint at his home on Monday night.
Meanwhile in Masvingo province, Choke Chamunorwa, anther MDC youth activist, died at Masvingo General Hospital on Wednesday morning. He was being treated for injuries he sustained when he was assaulted by ZANU PF youths in June 2008. The MDC said in a statement that Chamunorwa was beaten by ZANU PF youths at his home in Chiwara village, Gutu South in 2008, and since then his health has been deteriorating.
