Leading the Zanu PF hooligans, Chaderopa on Monday ordered Rukovo and Gambe to move out of their shops as they were MDC members. They resisted the attempts and the Zanu PF mob started attacking them. Goods and money from the shops were looted. The two however, managed to make a report to the police, which led to the arrest of Kennedy, Lovemore Chimombe and one Mhirizhonga. Rukovo and Gambe received treatment for head injuries at Sanyati Baptist Hospital before they were transferred for further treatment in Kadoma.
In Masvingo province, the late Choke Chamunorwa an MDC youth activist who died at Masvingo General Hospital on Wednesday will be buried at Chiwara village, Gutu South on Friday. Chamunorwa died from injuries he sustained when he was assaulted by Zanu PF youths in June 2008 and since then his health has been deteriorating.
Meanwhile, a group of men claiming to be war veterans in Sakubva, Manicaland province, on Wednesday visited Sakubva High 1 and Sakubva High 2 and forced all students in Form 4 to 6 and the teachers to attend a lecture on Zanu PFs dogma. They ordered them not to support the MDC. After waiting for more than four hours in the heat, singing Zanu PF songs, they were later forced to sign the Zanu PF anti-sanctions petition and to give their names, addresses and ID numbers. – The MDC Today – Issue 169

Two MDC members, Blessing Rukovo and Tendai Gambe of Sanyati, Midlands North province are being treated for injuries sustained after they were assaulted by Sanyati MP, Fungai Chaderopa, her son, Kennedy and over 10 Zanu PF thugs who were trying to evict them from their shops. Rukovo is the MDC Sanyati district Womens Assembly vice chairperson while Gambe is the MDC vice
