MDC-T in fear of arrest

mdc_logoHARARE - Some MDC-T members of parliament have resorted to hiding in parliament buildings for fear of being arrested by police.

Tabitha Khumalo, the MDC -T member of Bulawayo for Bulawayo East told journalists at a recent press club function in Bulawayo that life is becoming very difficult for MDC-T MPs who were being hunted down by police for allegedly inciting violence.

“Our MPs have refused to vacate parliament buildings because of fear of being arrested by the police. The police have now developed a tendency of arresting MDC-T MPs on their exit from parliament premises,” said Khumalo.

Last month the MDC-T MP for Nyanga North Douglas Mwonzora was arrested by police when leaving the parliament building on allegations of inciting violence. A number of MDC-T have also been arrested on unclear charges.
