MARONDERA - The Central Intelligence Organisation here was reportedly shocked to discover that one of its spies, Itai Samakwindi, was selling MDC-T Party membership cards around town.
The misconduct came to light after a tip off by a suspected CIO sympathiser last week. Samakwindi was among three operatives recently deployed to monitor MDC activities at the Marondera Town Bus Terminus. He took the opportunity to sell MDC-T membership cards.
After a tip off, other CIO operatives took him to their Hurudza House Offices for interrogation. He was found in possession of old MDC cards and is believed to have received a thorough beating. Two other agents deployed with him are believed to have gone into hiding, said a source privy to the development. Residents said CIO operatives, like everyone else, realized political change was inevitable and had to join the oppressed masses in the fight for democracy.
